Christy Clutter is an occupational therapy assistant (OTA) and co-founder/co-owner at Grow Pediatric Therapy and Group Services. Christy provides occupational therapy for children at Grow, and she collaborates closely with the occupational therapist and families to implement treatment plans and achieve goals. As a mother of two neurodiverse children, Christy understands the unique aspects of the special needs parenting journey. Christy remembers how much it meant to have dedicated therapists to help her and her children, and strives to offer the same level of judgement-free support to her families. Christy places a high value on parent education and family involvement in order to bridge the gap between home, school, and clinic.

In 2000, Christy graduated from Valdosta State University with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education and worked as an Early Intervention Support Administrator for the Delaware County Board of Developmental Disabilities in Ohio. In this role, Christy conducted home visits, worked with families to develop Individualized Family Services Plans (IFSPs), and implemented play-based therapy activities to help children meet their goals. Due to her husband’s military career, Christy and her family relocated to the CSRA in 2007.

After having her second child, Christy returned to school and received an Associates of Science in Allied Health from Augusta Technical College. Christy began working as an occupational therapy assistant in 2015 and was promoted to Assistant Director of a thriving multi-disciplinary pediatric clinic in 2016. For decades, Christy has been passionate about children with autism, ADHD, anxiety, dyslexia, challenging behaviors, and sensory processing differences, and she officially became an Autism-Informed Practitioner in 2021. In her “free time,” Christy enjoys spending time in nature, watching true crime shows (and The Office), and enjoying time with her family and pets.

Victorie completes all of the initial evaluations for children starting occupational therapy services at Grow, and she collaborates closely with the occupational therapy assistants who implement the treatment plans. Victorie pours her heart into each evaluation, and has received many compliments from parents about how her reports are both thorough and understandable. Victorie blends assessment data with parent priorities, and strives to write meaningful, neurodiverse-affirming treatment goals as part of each child’s plan of care. In addition to providing occupational therapy services, Victorie also tends to the ever-growing population of plants in the waiting area.

Victorie graduated from Auburn University in 2011 with a Bachelors in Rehabilitation Services, and received her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2013. She moved to Augusta to complete her final fieldwork rotation, and she never left!

Since 2014, Victorie has been working as an occupational therapist with children in the CSRA. She is especially passionate about children with autism, ADHD, anxiety, dyslexia, executive function challenges, and feeding difficulties. Victorie received training in the Sensory Oral Sequential (SOS) Approach to Feeding program in 2016 and became a certified ADHD Rehabilitation Services Provider in 2022. Victorie also uses her professional knowledge to support her church’s children’s ministry as the Special Needs Coordinator. On the weekends, Victorie enjoys re-watching The Office, listening to audiobooks, taking photos for family and friends, walking her dogs, completing home DIY projects with her husband, and visiting her family in Alabama.

Co-owners Christy Clutter and Victorie Steed hold their Georgia Business Journal Best of Georgia 2023 award for children's therapy practices, earned by popular vote.

Victorie and Christy began working together at a local pediatric outpatient office in 2015, where they quickly became the “dynamic OT/OTA duo.” While growing together in their knowledge and passion for the field of occupational therapy, they also grew closer as friends. When life flipped upside down during the pandemic, they wanted to continue working together, so they took a leap of faith and decided to start Grow — a place where children, families, and their therapists could grow through life together.

Since 2021, Victorie and Christy have been serving families while simultaneously running a business together. While they are very tired, they have never felt more fulfilled!

Victorie and Christy have both served as fieldwork educators to dozens of OT/OTA students, and currently provide guest lectures/labs related to sensory processing and fine motor development for local OTA programs. They are both incredibly passionate about sharing their knowledge with students and new graduates to help them become confident and effective therapists who can have a meaningful impact on many others.
